Middle Eastern Delegation
A delegation from eight Middle Eastern nations visited the offices of Georgia Commission on Women for a spirited discussion on "The Role of Non-Governmental Organizations (NGO's) in the Global Empowerment of Women." They were accompanied by representatives of the U.S. Department of State, Mr. Norman Skougstad and Ms. Stacy Smith, who sponsored their trip to Georgia. Commission Chair Nellie Duke and Executive Director Jessica Jones invited Dr. Mary Lou Frank and Linda Torrence, of the Georgia Women's Institute, to participate in the discussion. Women of Wealth magazine publisher Ms. Lei Lewis was a special guest, along with Mr. Henry Duke and Dr. Ken Frank.
